An Ethos of Service

Principled Engagement in the World

From the moment a student enters Brearley, she understands that the purpose of her education is not just to better herself, but to better the lives of the people and the world around her. This ethos of service, to each other and to the community at large, is ingrained in every student, many of whom have made it their life’s work. As demonstrated both professionally and through volunteerism, their commitment to the greater good, to identifying needs, creating solutions and effecting change, makes a profound impact on all the lives they touch.
