Coy Dailey

Director of Equity and Community Engagement

Coy Dailey earned a BS in mathematical sciences from Colby College and an MS.Ed in school leadership from the University of Pennsylvania. He has been an educator for over 20 years. Mr. Dailey began his career in 2001 as a math teacher at the Georgetown Day School in Washington, DC, and then spent seven years at the Packer Collegiate School in Brooklyn, where he taught math for the 6th, 7th and 8th grades. As a result of his knowledge, skill and gift for being an effective cultural worker with adults and children, he became the inaugural middle school dean of student life at Packer. In this role, he was responsible for enhancing community life in the middle school (grades 5-8 at Packer) for students and faculty. He was known for consistently bringing a social justice lens to all of his work and demonstrating it in the design, development and implementation of social justice simulations—a unique approach to social justice curriculum for school communities. As the director of diversity and equity for Bank Street School for Children, Mr. Dailey guided social justice work in the school by cultivating community, building strong relationships with children and adults and implementing initiatives to ensure equity for members of the institution. He is a senior administrator at The Brearley School, serving as the Director of Equity and Community Engagement. His work focuses on moving Brearley forward in its goal to become an inclusive, antiracist community.
